Adventures to the northwest! Part 1

Well no one ever said a "White Christmas" wasn't beautiful. They may have left out the treacherous driving conditions that go along with it, but all in all, we are very happy for the Christmas weather and experiences we ended up with this year.

Right now all 3 of our kids are happily perusing through brand new books handed down to us from Aunty Melanie (Thanks a bunch!) They feel like its Christmas all over again and we are eagerly awaiting teaching them many new words.

Our trip started out in the beautiful city of Boise as I mentioned a few posts back. The road trip there was uneventful for the boys, while our flight consisted of a 2 hour delay and a screaming baby. Oh wait that baby was ours! Oh little Therese! Its so good for humility. Taking in the evil glares and stares and people asking to change seats is all so hard to endure. That was just waiting on the tarmac! Praise God she fell asleep 15 minutes after take off. Therese and Mama ended up getting into Boise mere hours before the convoy of little boys, Daddy and Uncle Anthony arrived to meet us at our hotel.

Landing in Boise is hard to describe unless you have been there, seeing the snow capped mountains is beautiful and listening to the still in the air once you are outside is captivating. Truly a city with the hustle bustle of real city life, (which Mama needs) and yet with a small town feel where you needn't look far to find the nearest hay field and take in a deep breath of country air (again an absoulte need of this mutt raised half time in the country, half time in the city!)

Our hotel, we can't recommend enough, very economical. You won't get room service, but you don't mind. Its walking distance to 2 restaurants and short drive (across the street) to factory Outlets!!! The Best Western Northwest Lodge in Boise has very nice, clean and spacious rooms. Of course a pool for the kiddos, and a truly generous continental breakfast. We really didn't need more than what was offered. they had fruit, waffles, yogurts, coffees, and yes hard boiled eggs for the protein lover in you.

I guess my favorite part of the BWNW Lodge is well, the lodge feel! Check out the fireplace in the lobby. What's cool about it is we spent much of our time just hanging out as a family in the lobby. Especially at night when Therese couldn't sleep, I sipped coffee and sat near the fireplace until the wee hours of the morning while she toddled along trying to prick ornaments off the tree! It felt more like a home that you could freely use, than a hotel lobby where you need to be rushed along.
