We often forget, truly, what we have done the previous day. I guess life is a strange kind of busy with toddlers. We really are doing very little in comparison to a family with older kids where there is school activities and club sports to drive back and forth to, not to mention the multi- tasking of arranging a myriad of little adult schedules! God bless my Mom friends who do this and whom I constantly learn from.
For us it's that our minds are lost in the busy day of pitter pattering feet and how many diapers have been changed. With 3 kids under 5 and one other about to arrive on the scene, it really is like a dominos game, just when one is settled, you start the next round of settling.
Weekdays are hard. Eileen is quite the extrovert, and being alone all day with the kids is hard. Weekends are like paradise!!! Evenings aren't bad either:) Its very cute to see the chaos when daddy gets home. We all hear the garage door open and the 4 of us, Mama and 3 kids run, tripping over one another, out the garage screaming "Daddy." Mama has to fight off the kids to get the first kiss. She rarely loses. Daddy delights in this little ritual and then settles down to his after dinner drink, no its not Rum and Coke any more, rather a tall ice water which Joseph usually helps Mama prepare.
This past weekend we went to a small birthday party for a wonderful little friend of the kiddies. We also got to go to a Japanese garden with Koi fish. One of our kids always manages to fall in lakes, ponds and streams, this time it was Therese's turn to swallow "koi water" uugggh. Friends from Stubler photography came by Saturday for an informal backyard shoot. We all 4 adults agree it was similar to trying to photograph 5 tigers in a zoo waving at the same time, impossible. Thanks for your patience with us Stublers:)
